If you would like to give the gift of life and find out if you have had COVID-19, the American Red Cross has announced that they are testing all blood, platelet and plasma donations for COVID-19 antibodies. Beginning today, anyone who schedules an appointment to donate blood through the blood donor portal at RedCrossBlood.org will have a sample of their blood donation sent to a lab to be tested for COVID-19 Antibodies. Joe Zydlo with the Red Cross said there is an urgent need for blood donations….

Once you donate blood at a Red Cross Blood Drive the antibody test result will be available within 7 to 10 days through the donor app or the donor portal where you scheduled the appointment. If you test positive for the antibody, you can then give plasma to help someone recover from the sickness. There are several blood drives coming up, including blood drives tomorrow (Tues) in Lebanon at Hillcrest Baptist Church on Hoover Street from noon to 6 pm, and in Warsaw at the Knights of Columbus on Highway 83 from 2 to 6 pm.
