The criminal hearings for two Fort Leonard Wood men are moving forward in Laclede County Circuit Court. 18-year-old Zachary R. Gillis pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder in court this week, and was bound over to circuit court. Gillis was one of two men arrested after the body of Ethan Williams was found laying on the ground outside his residence in the 400 block of North Monroe Street in Lebanon on December 3rd, 2021. Gillis will be arraigned on March 7th. The other man charged in the murder, 20-year-old Blake Paulson was arraigned this week and has a trial date set for December 22nd. Authorities claim the two men along with the shooting victim, were engaged in an armed robbery at a residence in Lebanon when Williams was shot by a juvenile from Lebanon. The men then allegedly drove around with Williams in the car for some time before dumping him. Both men are charged with second-degree murder, burglary, and stealing controlled substance/methamphetamine manufacturing components.
