A Heat Advisory is in effect from noon until 7pm today for areas in the Southern part of the Regional Radio listening area. Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illness to occur. If you are spending time outdoors this afternoon be sure to drink plenty of fluids,”at least 1 quart of water per hour”, stay out of the sun as much as possible, and check up on relatives and neighbors, and make sure to bring children into the air conditioning or shade. Remember young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Remember, heat stroke is an emergency and you should call 9-1-1.
