A group called Americans For Prosperity has filed paperwork to try and ask Missouri voters whether they support a gas tax increase passed by the state Legislature last week. With the libertarian-conservative leaning group, Jeremy Cady says the organization has filed a request with the Secretary of State’s Office to try and put the question on the November 2022 ballot. The bill would boost the state’s fuel tax by 12.5 total cents over five years and give most drivers a rebate option for the amount of the increase.

With the group Missourians For Transportation Investment, Morgan Mundell says Americans For Prosperity did not speak in opposition to the bill during House and Senate hearings.
