Today marks the beginning of the three-day Best Sapper Competition at Fort Leonard Wood. The 15th Lieutenant General Robert B. Flowers Best Sapper Competition consists of 36 events designed to test the critical skills and knowledge of two-person teams of combat engineers, as well as the agility, endurance, and resilience of each competitor. The winning team will be recognized at an awards ceremony that begins at 11 a.m. on April 26th in Lincoln Hall Auditorium. The Best Sapper Competition is a key event of the annual Engineer Week activities at Fort Wood through May 1st. The Best Sapper Competition for engineers follows last week’s Best C-Burn Warrior competition. The U.S. Army Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear School named 1st Lieutenant Jordan Anderson and Sergeant Austin Howard, from the 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, the winners of the six-day Best CBRN Warrior competition during a ceremony last Friday at Baker Theater.
