Friday is a full day of homecoming celebration activities in Waynesville

This is Football Homecoming afternoon and evening in Waynesville. Students in grades 6-through-12 in the Waynesville School District will be dismissed from classes at noon today. Younger students in kindergarten through the 5th grade will be let out at one o’clock this afternoon at school district schools in Waynesville, St. Robert, and Fort
The annual football homecoming parade will begin at 2:30 from Downtown Waynesville and travel on Historic 66 to the Middle School. During the parade, thru traffic on Historic 66 will be interrupted. Law enforcement in Waynesville advises the motoring public that traffic will be heavy at times during the homecoming events in separate locations. The Waynesville-St. Robert Area Chamber of Commerce will have its annual Tiger Pride Night tailgate party from 4:30 to 6:30 in front of the Waynesville High School Gym. They’ll be serving 15 hundred hot dogs with other vendors providing popcorn, soft drinks, and giveaways to those who attend the tailgate party. The Football Homecoming Queen will be coronated at 6:30 inside Tiger Stadium. The kickoff to the Waynesville versus Hillcrest football game will be at 7 o’clock. Admission to the stadium will be $4 per person, age five and up, or you can use your season pass or annual pass. Senior citizens can use their senior citizens’ pass as well. Senior citizen passes are good for multiple years, so senior citizens can use the same pass that they have been using for years. The winners of the Chamber’s business window homecoming decorating contest will be announced at halftime.
