Freezing temperatures and freezing pipes

The weather service is telling us to expect an extended period of below freezing temperatures which means an increased risk of frozen pipes in homes. Lebanon Public Works Director Richard Shockley offers these tips to keep pipes from freezing…

If your water pipes do freeze, don’t use an open flame to try to thaw them, instead use an electric heat pad, or a hair dryer. If you use a portable space heater stay with it at all times and keep it away from other materials that might catch fire.
