Free courses available for Hazardous Materials response

Emergency Response Agencies, including Medical Personnel, Fire Departments, and Law Enforcement, have an opportunity to receive hazardous materials response training at no cost in 2024, through their Local Emergency Planning Committee and the Missouri Emergency Response Commission. Currently the LEPC in your area is seeking input into courses that you would like to be offered in your county. Stephen McLane Executive Director of the Missouri Emergency Response Commission said the training will be funded by a grant…

McLane encourages multiple agencies to participate in the training courses…

McLane encourages any responder who wants to take part in the free training to contact their Local Emergency Planning Committee for a list of courses available. Each LEPC or LEPD will compile the requests and then apply for a grant for the most popular requests. The deadline for an LEPC to submit the grant application is November 30th, so responders interested in a class should submit their request by November 15th. In Laclede County, submit your request for an HMEP Course catalog of courses by calling 417-288-1436.
