Free copies of the 39th annual “Old Settlers’ Gazette” are being distributed this week to sponsoring outlets in Pulaski County. The annual 64-page publication by the Old Stagecoach Stop Foundation is packed with news of the past and old-time photos about the Pulaski County area. This year, the “Gazette” contains news from 100 years ago and Pulaski County news of 1921, Dixon Hill Improvement, hunting and fishing on the Gasconade and Big Piney Rivers in 1896-through-1921, Fort Leonard Wood in the beginning-1946, and the newest Century Farm in the county. A limited number of free copies of the latest “Old Settlers’ Gazette” are available here at KJPW-KFBD studios in St. Robert. By the way, the Pulaski County Historical Society has announced that the annual Old Settlers Day celebration will not be taking place this year. It would have been held this Saturday and Sunday.
