Four people who were elected to the Waynesville City Council on April 5th will be sworn into office

Four people who were elected to the Waynesville City Council on April 5th will be sworn into office at this evening’s regular monthly meeting of the council. Taking the oath will be Rob Rice in Ward One, Cecil V. Davis the Second in Ward Two, Ed Conley in Ward Three, and Mike France in Ward Four. There will be an election of the Mayor Pro-tem after these council members are seated. Also at this evening’s meeting, several people will be appointed to the park board and to the city’s planning and zoning commission. Rena Brown will be appointed to the park board. Jeremiah Nickels, Robert Hyatt, and Rena Brown will be appointed to the planning and zoning commission. Kris York will be re-appointed to the board of adjustments.
Council members will consider approving a proposed ordinance for a conditional use permit to erect a telecommunications tower at 107 Viren Lane. The meeting time is at 5 p-m in the Waynesville Municipal Center.
