Fort Wood Cardboard Boat Race Takes Place Saturday At Fort Leonard Wood

Some Fort Leonard Wood residents will take part in a rather cool activity Saturday. It’s the annual Fort Wood Cardboard Boat Race. Check-in will begin at 10 o’ clock Saturday morning at the Training Area 250 lake. All boats must be checked in by 10:45 am. The race will begin at 11 o’ clock.
During the event, 2-person cardboard boat teams will try to stay afloat in the boat. There are two categories of competition–one for adults age 18 and up and one for family members where at least one child, age 17 and under, is participating.
Awards will be given for most spirited team, most creative design, and first to cross the finish line.
There is no cost to participate. However, participants must register at the Installation Wide Events Office by calling 1-573-596-6913, or register online.
