Fort Leonard Wood’s Environmental Division will host a special Archaeology Month presentation this Wednesday

Fort Leonard Wood’s Environmental Division is scheduled to host a special Archaeology Month presentation this Wednesday. The presentation will take place from 3:30 to 5:30 Wednesday afternoon at the Colyer Park Pavilion, located off Nebraska Avenue near the Museum on the post. During the presentation, members of the public can learn about the people who once occupied the Fort Leonard Wood lands from thousands of years ago to the 1930s. There will be pre-historic weapons and stone tool-making demonstrations, hands-on activities including the opportunity to dig for reproduction artifacts and learn about ancient rock art, and displays of artifacts, photos, and information from on-post sites. Attendees can bring any artifact they may have for assistance by staff archaeologists in identifying the object.
