Fort Leonard Wood switching climate control systems in government-owned facilities from heating to cooling, starting today

As summer in Missouri nears, the Fort Leonard Wood Directorate of Public Works is switching climate control systems in government-owned facilities from heating to cooling, starting today. Per Army Regulation 420-1, most facilities will have thermostats set at 74 degrees for energy conservation purposes. Many climate systems monitor outside air temperatures and will automatically convert to cooling and back to heating when necessary. However, there are other facilities that require a manual switch-over. Once converted to cooling mode, these facilities cannot be switched back to heating mode until October. Buildings may take a few days to adjust. If cooling systems seem inoperable, a service request can be initiated using the Army Maintenance Activity Site.
