Former State Senator Ed Emery of Lamar has indicated he will be running for the seat that Vicky Hartzler will be vacating

In the wake of 4th District Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler’s announcement last week that she will be running for U. S Senator from Missouri in 2022, former State Senator Ed Emery of Lamar has indicated he will be running for the seat that Hartzler will be vacating. The Kansas City Star reports that Emery is 71 and first won election to the Missouri Senate in 2012. He left when his final term ended at the start of this year. He previously served as a state representative. Hartzler, who is also a Republican, is among several candidates seeking the seat that will be vacated by Republican Roy Blunt’s retirement.
