A former basketball coach from Weableau is facing new charges in Hickory County for alleged sex crimes. Authorities say 44-year-old Charles Dwayne Dryer has been charged by Hickory County Prosecutor Keaton Ashlock with two felony counts of statutory sodomy and one felony count of statutory rape. Records say the charges are a result of an incident in 2011.

Dryer was already facing several sex crimes charges involving students from Viburnum, Iron County C 4 School District in Eastern Missouri. He was charged there with forcible rape, sodomy, statutory rape, and sexual contact with a student. Those incidents occurred during the 2007 – 2008 school year while Dryer was a coach and involved several students. He faces a March trial for those Iron County charges.

A warrant for Dryers’ arrest has been issued in Hickory County with a bond set at $75,000.
