A former Miller County R-III teacher was sentenced Wednesday to ten years in prison after pleading guilty to three counts of Sexual Contact with a Student.

26-year-old Michael Allen’s sentence also includes him participating in a sexual offender assessment program in the Department of Corrections.
The program includes the possibility of early release.

Allen, who records show lived in Versailles, pleaded guilty in October to the charges after someone tipped off the Miller County Sheriff that Allen had given alcohol to some students and had a sexual relationship with one of them.

Allen taught at Miller County R-3 in Tuscumbia. He was the school’s physical education teacher and head girls’ basketball coach.
