The former general manager of the hospital dining facility at Fort Leonard Wood has pleaded guilty to stealing more than $69-thousand-dollars from cash registers. 53-year-old Gregory Arthur Norton was employed by Sodexo, Inc., a food services contractor for the General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital, from August 2015 to July 2018. According to court documents, significant cash discrepancies totaling $78,320 were discovered during an audit in November 2018. The discrepancies were found to be related to large unexplained voids conducted at the cash register. Norton admitted to using his manager code to authorize the voids and stole the voided amount of cash. As part of the plea agreement, Norton is required to repay $69,025 to the government and could be sentenced to up to 10 years in federal prison without parole.
