As the popularity of food trucks has gained momentum in Lebanon, the question of how to regulate them is being taken to Lebanon City Council. Code Administrator Joe Berkich made a report to City Council during Thursday’s work session, on Food Trucks and itinerant vendors, saying things have changed since the last time they addressed the ordinance. Berkich offered recommendations and sought guidance on exemptions and restrictions.

Berkich said they need to determine how many days a year itinerant vendors, like food trucks would be allowed to operate a year, and where.

Certain exemptions could be put in place with the approval of the property owner, and waivers for operating on city-owned property could be approved by the Parks Director or the City Administrator. Days that Food trucks and vendors that operate at special events or at The Market would not be included in general days of operation. Discussions will continue about proposed changes to the code.
