The number of individuals and families in Laclede County who seek food assistance has grown significantly. In Laclede County, the official food pantries rely on grants, but they also rely on private donors who give to support the food assistance programs. Becky King with the Market at Lifepoint tells Regional Radio News that since she began at the food pantry the number of people who need food assistance has increased.
The Market at LifePoint recently received a grant from Ozarks Food Harvest for a replacement fridge, a new freezer, and $12,000 in food and dairy. Other agencies that food in Laclede County are taking monetary donations too, they include Crosslines, L-Life Food Pantry, the Salvation Army and the Free Store.
