The Laclede County Health Department was notified on Thursday morning of the first COVID-19 death in Laclede County. No information on that individual was provided to protect the family’s right to privacy. Laclede County Health Department Administrator, Charla Baker, said any positive diagnosis is concerning, but to learn of a death is heartbreaking. She urges residents to treat any public contact as a risk of possible exposure, and to protect yourself by wearing a mask and washing your hands frequently if you must go out.
