Fire District asks for a levy increase

A special election is coming up on August 8th with a few propositions on the ballot. Hazelgreen Fire Protection District is asking for an additional levy of up to 30 cents per hundred dollars assessed valuation. Hazelgreen Fire Chief Jarrold Arnall said if approved this will be the first levy increase in quite some time. He said they have been able to conserve money over the years
Arnall said they have a preliminary plan for some of the levy….again if it’s approved
Arnall said that the number of calls has doubled since 2018. The Hazelgreen Fire Protection District covers approximately 90 square miles in Laclede and Pulaski County.
