Finding new fishing hole

Friday is opening day of the catch and keep trout season at Bennett Spring State Park. Trout Season continues through Spring, Summer and early Fall with thousands of anglers expected to try to catch their daily limit. Bennett Spring has become a favorite spot for many who have established a yearly visit as a family tradition. Many returning visitors have favorite fishing spots, but in 2024 there may be some adjustments needed. Park Hatchery Manager Ben Havens tells us that a renovation project at the park will close a small area….
Havens said there are plenty of areas to fish at Bennett Spring; there is over a mile and a half of stream in the park, and the construction will impact only about 300 feet.
