Missouri Senate Democrats are in day three of stalling a vote on a bill that would charge doctors and health care providers with child abuse for ‘coercing’ anyone under 18 years old to undergo a gender transition. Negotiations are going on behind the scenes, but on the Senate floor, discussions involve anything but. For instance, Democratic Senator Karla May ate up time by talking about the Bible.

Republican Senator Denny Hoskins addressed the lengthy filibuster on Twitter Wednesday by threatening a “previous question,” generally known as a PQ, which is a move to completely end debate and force a vote on the bill Senators are working on. A vote has not taken place on the bill yet.
