Fentanyl found in fake prescription pills

The Drug Enforcement Administration has issued a Public Safety Alert warning Americans of the alarming increase in the lethality and availability of fake prescription pills containing fentanyl and methamphetamine. The illegal pills are ordered through sources online, and then shipped or mailed.

 

 

DEA Public Information Officer Andree Swanson said the counterfeit pills are dangerous to anyone who takes them….

So far more than 9.5 million counterfeit pills have been seized by DEA agents. Agent Swanson said these deadly pills have caused a significant number of overdose deaths, and are often sold on social media and e-commerce platforms making them available to anyone with a smartphone, including minors.
