The preliminary data for the fall firearms deer hunting season is in from the Missouri Department of Conservation. From November 14th through November 24th, deer hunters in Missouri harvested 176-thousand-604 deer during the November portion of firearms deer season. Of the deer harvested, 95-thousand-654 were antlered bucks, 16-thousand-45 were button bucks, and 64-thousand-905 were Does. The top harvest counties were Howell, Franklin, and Texas County. The 2020 numbers are down from last year, when hunters checked 179-thousand-960 deer. There were three firearms-related hunting incidents during the November portion of the firearms deer season with all being non-fatal and self-inflicted.

Archery deer season resumes today through January 15th, 2021. The late youth portion runs from November 27th through the 29th. The antlerless portion of firearms deer season runs December 4th through the 6th followed by the alternative methods portion December 26th through January 5th, 2021.
