As guidelines are loosened for the COVID-19 pandemic, health officials expect that there may be an increase in the number of positive cases of the illness. The number of positive cases in the state of Missouri at more than 91-hundred, with 396 fatalities from the virus. So far Laclede County has been fortunate with no positive cases reported from the more than 300 tests performed, but officials remind everyone, we have to remain vigilant. Residents are reminded to continue to stay out of crowded areas, like large stores and gatherings, unless absolutely necessary. Wash your hands frequently, continue wearing a mask in public and continue wearing a mask, especially residents who are considered high risk and our older population. If you are sick or have been in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-10, stay home.
