In Loving Memory of Elton Randell Pester
November 25, 1959 – September 13, 2024

Elton “Randy” Randell Pester, 64, was born November 25, 1959, in Denver Colo., the son of Ronald and Sandra Pester. He passed away on September 13, 2024, after a year-long battle with cancer, surrounded by loved ones.

Randy spent most of his life in the Denver metropolitan area, working as a dedicated tax accountant by day and serving his community as a youth sports coach by night. Whether he was on the field, in the office, or lending a hand to a neighbor, Randy was known for his selflessness and big heart. He was the type of person who never met a stranger and was always ready to share a joke or offer help to anyone in need.

Randy’s love for sports extended far beyond the field. He believed that every child deserves a chance to be part of a team, and through his years as a coach, he left a lasting impact on countless young athletes. His legacy of leadership, integrity, and fun lives on in the many lives he touched. His favorite holiday was Thanksgiving, not just because it often fell on or near his birthday, but because it embodied his spirit of gratitude and generosity, values he lived every day.

In 2021, Randy and his wife, DeVon, moved to Urbana, Mo., to be closer to his grandchildren. Despite the move, Randy remained connected to his Colorado roots and his Denver community, always keeping in touch with the friends and neighbors he held dear.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, David Pester. He is survived by his wife, DeVon Pester; his two daughters, Melissa (Thomas) Leslie of Urbana, Mo., and Shandra Sharp of Palm Harbor, Florida; his son, Timothy (Ange) Pester of Lakewood, Colo.; his stepchildren, Jarrel Damon and Amie Millholland of Denver, Colo.; and four grandchildren, Nathaniel Leslie, Allison Leslie, Brody Sharp, and Abbigail Leslie. He also leaves behind two nephews, one niece, and a host of friends and extended family who will miss him dearly.

A celebration of Randy’s life will be held on September 28, 2024, at 11:00 AM, at Prairie Chapel Church in Urbana, Mo, with visitation starting at 10:30 AM.

In remembrance of Randy’s unwavering commitment to youth sports, and in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the Skyline Archery Team (20663 US HWY 65, Urbana, MO 65767). Your contributions will help ensure that Randy’s passion for mentoring young athletes continues to inspire future generations
