The National Weather Service says an EF-0 tornado touched down Saturday night in southwest Missouri’s Polk County, near Fair Play. There were no reports of injuries. NWS Springfield meteorologist Mark Burchfield tells Missourinet the tornado was on the ground for about three minutes, with estimated peak winds of 80 miles per hour. The tornado was near the Polk-Cedar County border, northwest of Springfield. The NWS Springfield office issued numerous tornado and severe thunderstorm warnings Saturday night, across the Ozarks.
