Lebanon Officers Police officers arrested 27-year-old Cody McGuire after he wrecked a stolen vehicle in the 1200 block of Clark Street. According to the police report, officers responded to the 600 block of North Jefferson Avenue after a report that a 2017 GMC truck was in the area. While officers were searching for the vehicle, it traveled North onto Clark Street at a high rate of speed crashing into an occupied vehicle near the 1200 block of Clark Street, coming to rest against an unoccupied truck in a parking lot. Officers quickly arrived at the scene just as the vehicle came to a complete stop. McGuire was taken into custody without incident and a search of the stolen vehicle was conducted. A firearm that was reported stolen out of Springfield, Missouri was recovered from the vehicle along with approximately 100 grams of methamphetamine. McGuire was charged with felony Trafficking Drugs in the 1st Degree, felony Resisting Arrest by Fleeing, felony Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and felony Unlawful Use of a Weapon. He is being held at the Laclede County Jail with a $250,000 cash or surety bond.
