Drug and Firearm Arrests Made Over the Weekend by Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department reports arresting a man over the weekend in the 15-thousand block of O-highway. Deputies were notified that James Morris, who is wanted on outstanding warrants from multiple agencies, was currently in that area of the county. Charges on the warrants include non-support of a child, resisting arrest, trafficking drugs, and possession of amphetamine. Due to Morris having a history of fleeing and assaulting law enforcement, deputies requested the assistance of the Waynesville Police Department’s canine.
Upon arrive at the residence, Morris reportedly fled on foot into a field from a vehicle parked in the driveway. Multiple verbal commands were given but ignored by Morris. The canine was deployed and Morris was taken into custody.
A female, later identified as Emily Fancher was detained after following verbal commands.
After consent was given to search the vehicle, a firearm was found that deputies identified as belonging to Fancher, a convicted felon, a crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine, and marijuana. Upon arrival at the Pulaski County Jail in Waynesville, Fancher was found to be concealing a glass pipe commonly used to smoke methamphetamine.
Judge Colin Long issued a warrant on Saturday against Fancher for unlawful possession of a firearm.
The suspect narcotics were sent for analysis to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Crime Laboratory with possible charges to be filed at a later date.
