A single-vehicle accident at 4:58 Sunday afternoon resulted in injuries to two residents from Buffalo. The accident occurred when a car driven by 32-year-old Vernon W. Alexander of Buffalo, ran off Highway 32, 10 miles west of Lebanon and hit a fence. Injured in the accident was a two-year-old unnamed juvenile and 30-year-old Britny L. Lankford of Buffalo. Both were taken to Mercy Hospital in Springfield. Alexander was charged with felony unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful use of a weapon, felony possession of a controlled substance, (methamphetamine), possession of marijuana, careless and imprudent driving involving a crash and operating a motor vehicle without a license. He was taken to the Laclede County Jail and later released.
