The Missouri Department of Transportation has awarded the Doolittle Rural Fire Protection District with a grant of $36,178. The district will use the money to buy new equipment, including a spreader, a cutter, and a telescopic ram. The equipment is useful during crashes when people need to be removed from a vehicle. The funds will also be used to purchase batteries and to send members to a twelve-hour extrication class. Doolittle is located 50 miles northeast of Lebanon on Interstate 44.
