Christmas time is a predominate time when scams happen. The one big scam is fake messages. These messages could be alerting you that your package wasn’t delivered, or that your package was delivered but no one was home to receive it. When this happens scammers try to alert you by texting you a number to call, but it’s important to not call that number because they just want your personal information. Pamela Hernandez with the Better Business Bureau says that it’s important to not click on that text or call that number.
The best way to not get scammed is to order from a site that is reliable with good reviews, or go out and shop local. For more information on holiday scam texts and calls, you can visit BBB.org.
