Lebanon Police responded to a 9-1-1 call with a young girl saying that her stepfather was choking her mother. As officers were responding they found the victim and two children running down the street. According to the report, the victim said that she and her husband were separated and that he had come to her home banging on the door. She said after telling him to leave several times, she let him in and told him to go to sleep. The woman said that the man, identified as 42-year-old Douglas Miller, became aggressive, and she began to fight her way out , and they fell to the floor. She said he then grabbed her and started to squeeze her neck with both hands, to the point she almost blacked out. The victim was able to get away when one of the children kicked Miller. Miller appeared in Laclede County Court on Monday and pleaded not guilty to felony domestic assault and burglary.
