Multiple criminal investigations were going on between January 2017 and August 2021 by state agencies, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The woman in question, 53-year-old Connie Gonzales admitted to distributing methamphetamine which she got from an Arizona supplier. She received one to two pounds every week, and it was reported Gonzales had over 15 pounds of methamphetamine in her residence. On March 21, 2022 law enforcement executed a search warrant and seized approximately 848 grams of methamphetamine. Gonzales was sentenced to 23 years in federal prison for possessing methamphetamine with the intent to distribute and one count of possessing methamphetamine with the intent to distribute in a premises where a minor resided.
