(Dixon)–One of Pulaski County’s premier annual hometown events will not be taking place this year. The Dixon Chamber of Commerce has just announced that Dixon Cow Days, which was scheduled to be held on September 18th and 19th, has now been canceled. A notice posted by the Chamber said, “We regret to inform our community that we will have to cancel this year’s Cow Days. With the pandemic looming over our community, which jeopardizes the health and sense of security during this event, we are protecting our vendors from large investments when there is no guarantee that we will have participation. Also, with so many partners involved in Cow Days and the uncertainties of whether or not our partners will be able to participate, as they did in the past, we will not have the manpower to complete all of the laborious tasks that are involved.” The Chamber had planned to have the popular two-day event with a few adjustments. There was to be no Cow Days Parade this year. Now, all the events have been canceled.
The Chamber promises to see the public next year at Cow Days 2021.
