Being prepared for the threat of a natural disaster is important, as the potential for heavy rains, hail, lightning, flooding, and tornadoes are always a possibility this time of year. Lake of the Ozarks Council of Local Governments will be hosting an online training session to help prepare, respond, and plan recovery efforts after a natural disaster. Scott Montgomery is a Planner with the LOCLG and he mentions some organizations that will be in the meeting.

This training is based on guidance from FEMA and SEMA. Some key support functions that help in recovery efforts are Community Planning and Capacity Building, Economic efforts, Health and Social Services, Housing Infrastructure, and Natural and Cultural Resources.

The online Natural Disaster Recovery training class will be held on April 28th & 29th, You only need to attend one day. The Course is free, starts at 10 am and is expected to last about 2 1/2 hours.
