After the Lebanon R-3 School District canceled the prom this year, a group of parents on Facebook got together and arranged for those students to have a “prom” at a venue off campus. That event took place on Saturday night in Waynesville. Even though the group that organized the event promised precautions would be taken (including temperature checks at the door), three days later one of the participants was diagnosed with COVID-19. Laclede County Health Department Administrator, Charla Baker, says large gatherings without proper social distancing and masks are how this virus is being spread so easily in our community………

Anyone that attended the parent-sponsored prom in Waynesville on Saturday, July 11th, needs to quarantine for two weeks. Students had to sign a waiver releasing the venue and the parents from any responsibility to be able to attend.
