Deer Season hunting reminders

This weekend marks the opening of firearms deer season in Missouri, and a higher than average harvest is expected across the state. Before you head to the deer woods, Conservation Agent Jared Milligan reminds hunters of some important regulations, including mandatory testing for Chronic Wasting Disease in Laclede County.

This weekend, Laclede County CWD testing stations are located at the Agriculture Legacy Center at the Fairgrounds in Lebanon and at the Nebo Falcon Fire Station on Highway 32 at Drynob. Milligan said it’s mandatory that you have the right permit before you go hunting….

Milligan said it’s also very important to dispose of a deer carcass properly; it’s illegal to dump a deer carcass roadside or near a waterway. If you have questions contact the Missouri Department of Conservation.
