The deer harvest in Missouri during opening weekend of firearms season was down as compared to last year. Preliminary data from the Missouri Department of Conservation shows that deer hunters in Missouri harvested 95-thousand-766 deer during the opening weekend. Laclede County hunters brought in 14-hundred-59, Camden County 11-hundred-81, Dallas County hunters brought in 12-hundred-23 and Pulaski County brought in 843. The harvesting counties were Franklin with 2-thousand- 78 deer checked, Texas with 19-hundred-31, and Callaway with 17-hundred-35. Last year, hunters checked 99-thousand-470 deer during the opening weekend of the 2018 November portion of firearms deer season. The November portion of fall firearms deer season continues through November 26th. Archery deer season opens again November 27th through January 15th, 2020.
