David Earl Reynolds, age 63, passed away on June 25, 2024, at his home near Polk, MO. David was born on October 19, 1960 in Independence, Mo to James Marvin and Gladys Pitts Reynolds. David and his parents lived in Blue Springs, MO until he was 16 years old then they moved to the family farm north of Polk, Mo (Sentinel).
David married Patty Dryer on August 25 ,1979. They enjoyed 44 years together and treasured their three children, Scott, Michelle and Erin.
David had a career at Mo State Parks as assistant superintendent. He was owner and operator of Diamond R Farms. David raised beef cattle, soybeans, corn, wheat, and a custom hay business. David had many skills in excavating, construction and maintenance but enjoyed farming the most. He especially enjoyed farming with his son, Scott and his grandson, Sam. David loved to hunt and made several hunting trips to Colorado and Wyoming hunting elk and mule deer. He also loved to hunt deer on the farm, and to fish. He fished in Alaska, Florida, and spent many hours fishing on Lake Pomme de Terre as well as spoonbill fishing at Truman Lake. David loved to share these hobbies with his children, grandchildren and nephews. He was always up for a family vacation whether it be to the mountains or to the gulf coast. David could accomplish anything, had many friends and was always willing to lend a helping hand.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jim Reynolds and brother-in-law John Kaiahua
David is survived by his wife, Patty; His children Scott Reynolds and wife, Kristy of Polk, Michelle Tjeenk Willink and husband, Bon of Kampala Uganda and Dr. Erin Walker and husband, Nathan of Goodson; Grandchildren, Ben and Sam Reynolds, Freya and Houwie Tjeenk Willink, Lane, Porter and Coy Walker; Sister Judy Kaiahua and sister in law, Lajuana Reynolds
David was a Member of Sentinel Missionary Baptist Church
Services will be at Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, MO. Visitation will be Sunday, June 30, 2024, from 3:00pm-5:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 1, at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Sentinel Cemetery.
