David Paul Anderson, son of the late Adolph Paul (Pete) and Betty Jean McMillan Anderson, was born on October 31, 1956 in West Plains, MO and departed this life on June 2, 2024 at his home in Buffalo, MO surrounded by his loving family. At the time of his passing he was 67 years, seven months, and one day of age.
Dave grew up in Urbana, MO, where he attended grade school and graduated from Skyline High School in 1974. Afte graduating, he worked in construction until 1979 when he began his career in Law Enforcement as a Sherriff Deputy for Russell Hill. He was united in marriage to Elaine Bradley in October of 1984, and to this union one son, Greg, was born. Dave continued his career in Law Enforcement and became the Police Chief for Buffalo from 1986-2001. He left Buffalo and went to work for MOCIC where he stayed as long as his health permitted.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Elaine of the home; son, Greg Anderson; two grandchildren, Ava and Tanner; his mother-in-law, Dale (Bradley) Day; his sister, Linda Fisher; and brother-in-law, Larry Fisher and children, Jan & husband Chris Gordon, Brad & wife Rebecca Fisher, and Kyle & wife Shyla Fisher. He also leaves other family members and many friends who will all truly miss him.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 in the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Blue, David Hall, and Chris Gordon officiating. Escorts will be Kevin Sharpe, Don Ruzicka, Jack Dill, Kenny Harmon, Alan Daniels, and John Maddux. Honorary escorts will be Chris Gordon, Kyle Fisher, Brad Fisher, Chris Glor, Larry Fisher, Travis Dill, Tyler Dill, and Logan Miller. Interment will be in the Memorial Gardens of Memory Cemetery under the care and direction of the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Scott Britton Memorial Fund ( https://scottbrittonmemorialfund.org/) or the Calvary Chapel Freewill Baptist Church Kids ministries.
