Dallas County Theft arrests

An investigation into thefts in the Dallas County area has led to the arrest of two people. The investigation began with the theft of a John Deere Gator from the Conway area. The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office was able to gather information that led to a suspect who was questioned and admitted to his involvement in the theft and showed deputies where it had been taken to in Camden County. On Tuesday, Philip Ace Comer was arrested and is charged with felony stealing with a bond of $5-thousand-dollars.
On Wedenesday, Deputies located Michael John Shanks, Jr., who had been wanted for questioning in several area thefts in the Elkland area. According to the Sheriff’s Office, when Deputies located Shanks, he was in possession of stolen property from area thefts. Using a search warrant deputies located several pieces of stolen property on Shanks property. Shanks has been charged with 3 counts of felony stealing, and one count of trafficking in stolen identities with a bond of $50-thousand-dollars. The investigation continues and more charges are expected at the completion of the investigation.
