Critical Fire Weather conditions in the Ozarks

The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning in effect from noon to 6pm today(thurs). Everyone is asked to not do any outdoor burning. Mark Burchfield with the National Weather Service in Springfield explains that high winds and dry vegetation sets the stage for out of control fires….

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
