The Missouri Senate is the next stop for a plan that would limit lawsuits alleging a business or organization exposed someone to a contagious disease. The bill would exempt them from being liable unless they intentionally cause someone to be exposed. Neosho Representative Ben Baker’s bill would also ban state and local governments from issuing stay-at-home orders and ordering people to quarantine if they have not tested positive for a contagious disease.

 

On the flip side, Kirkwood Democrat Barbara Phifer says businesses should be liable if they do not provide health protections for their workers.
