COVID cases increasing

While the pandemic is over, there seems to be a slight increase in the number of Covid 19 cases in the area. Currently, Camden County is showing a moderate community risk level for exposure and Laclede County is showing an increase. Laclede County Health Department Nursing Director Kim Smith

Smith said if you suspect you have Covid it’s important to take steps to protect those around you.

There are many people in the community who are elderly, very young and those with a compromised immune system, and contracting Covid can be very dangerous for them. Smith also said there has been a recent increase in the number of influenza cases in Laclede County. Masks, hand washing and staying out of crowded places is a good way to protect yourself, but a vaccine is also an effective way to prevent serious cases of Influenza and Covid.
