County is getting ready for August Primary

Now that the General Municipal Election is over, election officials in Missouri will shift their focus to the August Primary. Laclede County Clerk Linda Cansler tells us that absentee voting will begin soon….

Several positions in Laclede County are unopposed on the August ticket; however, there are 2 candidates seeking the Eastern District Commissioner seat which has been held by Joe Pickering for several terms. The candidates on the Republican ticket are David Layman, and Kelly Doublin, a third candidate that filed withdrew from the race. Running for the seat of Western District Commissioner are Republicans incumbent Darrell Pollock and Joe Wasmer, with a third candidate withdrawing. 2 candidates will be on the ticket for Laclede County Public Administrator, Zane McCaslin is challenging incumbent, Karen Guinn. The last day to register to vote in the August 4th Primary is July 8th.
