On Thursday night, Lebanon City Council was provided information about streets and utilities by Public Works Director Richard Shockley. He said they are working on traffic flow and traffic counts. The study on connector street between Beck and 4th Street is complete and has been sent to MoDOT, but they haven’t gotten back any comments yet. He also gave an update on what they are doing about street appearance and right of way work…

He said they have met the goal for street striping and have the materials for painting the 4 crosswalks that are left. But it is taking time to get some streets done. As to sidewalks, Shockley said they have a plan to get them A.D.A. compliant. Shockley also provided an update on what they are working on addressing in the utilities departments, including inspection of water and sewer lines. He said they have put out a request for proposals for a leak detection survey…

He said the average water outage time is three-quarters of an hour. He said they had 9 main breaks and 18 service line breaks since the first of the fiscal year. AS for electric outages, he said the outage time averages about an hour and a half, but that doesn’t include the outages that happened after the first of January. As for outage reporting by customers, he said they are working with the software company to get the utility call center customer updated data.
