Could Toll Roads cross Missouri?

(Jefferson City)–A key Missouri lawmaker says toll roads are a “non-starter” with him. Senate Transportation Committee Chairman Doug Libla’s opposition is significant, because any toll road legislation would have to go before his committee:

While Missouri and Oklahoma both have a 17-cent-a-gallon gas tax, Libla says those who point to the quality of Oklahoma’s roads don’t mention that you have to drive on a toll road “just about everywhere you drive” there. Libla instead favors raising Missouri’s gas tax to 19-cents per gallon.
