Could outlying communities have a deputy assigned to their area?
The Laclede County Sheriff is asked why not have deputies assigned to outlying area communities like it’s done in Conway? Sheriff David Millsap reminds people citizens in Conway pay extra for that service but he says, he would like to see a district patrol officer out in the county:
Millsap says, they would have to add more deputies to have a patrol officer in districts:
Millsap says, Laclede County encompasses 760 square miles with a population of 35-thousand residents and he says, his department is four to five deputies below where they should be for this size of the county, but more deputies mean more cost to the county.
